Phillip Lindsay (* 24. July 1994 in Denver , Colorado ) is an American American football player at the position of the running backs . He played college football for the University of Colorado Boulder and has been with the Denver Broncos in the National Football League (NFL) since 2018 .

college

Lindsay grew up in Aurora , Colorado and attended South High School in Denver. He then played college football from 2013 to 2017 . He attended the University of Colorado Boulder and played there for the Colorado Buffaloes in the NCAA Division I FBS.

In total, he came to 3,775 yards in 765 runs in four seasons and ran 36 touchdowns . In college, he was the second most yardage, the third player to hit 10 or more touchdowns in two consecutive seasons, and the first player to run over 1,000 yards in two consecutive seasons.

NFL

Lindsay was not invited to the NFL Combine prior to the 2018 NFL Draft and was not selected in the draft, among other things because he is relatively short with a height of 1.73 m. He was later signed as a free agent by the Denver Broncos from his home state. After making it into the 53-man squad for the 2018 season, he was initially the third running back behind Devontae Booker and Royce Freeman .

His debut in Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks made his first touchdown in the NFL, gaining over 100 yards of space. In his second game against the Oakland Raiders , Lindsay made more than 100 yards of space, making him the first non-drafted player to do so in his first two games. He has been a starter since week 8 after an injury to Freeman. On December 18, 2018, he was elected as the first undrafted rookie to take the Pro Bowl offense .
