The Phleger Dome is a massive, dome-shaped and 3315 m high mountain in the West Antarctic Marie-Byrd-Land . In the Watson Escarpment, it looms at the northeast end of the Stanford Plateau .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of its own surveys and with the help of aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1960 and 1963. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1967 after Herman Phleger (1890-1984), adviser to US President Dwight D. Eisenhower and US representative in the negotiations for the Antarctic Treaty in 1959.
