O -phospho- L -tyrosine is a chemical compound from the group of non-proteinogenic amino acids .
properties
Phosphotyrosine is produced in the course of a post-translational modification by phosphorylation of tyrosines in proteins . As a result, they appear as a subsequent modification in proteins. The phosphorylation reaction is catalyzed by a tyrosine kinase . The phosphorylation is split off by hydrolysis by tyrosine phosphatases . In addition, degradation can take place by ubiquitination .
Proteins with the protein domain SH2 bind to phosphotyrosine.
