Phylas (Ephyra)
Phylas ( Greek Φύλας ), king of Ephyra in Thesprotia , is a figure in Greek mythology .
He was killed by Heracles , who led the Kalydonians victoriously in the campaign against Ephyra. The demigod then took the king's daughter, Astyoche (also called Astyocheia or Astydameia ), as a companion; she bore him Tlepolemos , who later founded several cities on Rhodes .
What is striking here is the similarity of the story with that of Heracles and Phylas , king of the Dryoper .
