Pia Mechler

Pia Mechler (born February 19, 1983 in Darmstadt ) is a German actress .

Life

Mechler was born as the daughter of a German pilot and a Polish-Australian-German mother who grew up in Chile . She studied acting at the European Film College in Denmark . She completed her training in 2005 with a diploma. After graduating, Mechler moved to Berlin . There she worked with the acting teacher Kristiane Kupfer and attended workshops in singing and voice training .

Mechler first played in a few short films from 2004 . From 2005 she was seen in German and English television and film productions. In 2008 she starred in the two-part film adaptation of Terry Pratchett's Disc World , and in 2009 in the disaster film Vulkan, broadcast on RTL . In 2010 she starred in the student Oscar nominated film The Night Father Christmas Died .

Mechler was part of the Portuguese electro-pop band MAU with a contract with Universal Music Portugal. In 2015 her debut novel Remisuri was published by shelff-Verlag.

She works and lives in New York City .
