Piaggio skipper

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Piaggio Skipper is a large scooter that the Italian vehicle manufacturer Piaggio built between 1993 and 2002.

The skipper was presented in Nice in May 1993. However, since the name Skipper was trademarked in Germany, the vehicles were initially offered under the name SKR. The 150 cm³ version presented in June 1993 was revised in 1994 and was only available in Germany at the end of 1996, whereby all models were optically upgraded with a new bench seat, darker plastic parts, more modern lettering and new colors. Production stopped in 1997.

In 1998 the models Skipper LX 125 and Skipper LXT 150 appeared . Until 1999, air-cooled single-cylinder two-stroke engines with 125 cm³ and 150 cm³ of the previous model were available. From 2000, air-cooled four-stroke engines of the Leader generation Skipper ST with 125 cm³ and 150 cm³ were installed, as well as a new headlight and a multifunctional display.
