Piccanto is an Austrian a cappella - Pop band from Salzburg .

history

Piccanto was founded in autumn 2010 at the Musisches Gymnasium Salzburg as an 8-person vocal ensemble . The initially classically oriented group gave concerts in Austria, Germany and Italy. In 2015 Piccanto took part in the ORF casting show The great chance of the choirs , which they were able to win through jury and audience voting. As a result, there was a collaboration with Sony Music Austria and the producer Wolfgang Lindner jr. & Thomas Rabitsch , with whom they recorded their first album Seven in June 2015 , as well as with the management agency Rehling, which has represented their agendas ever since. In autumn 2015, Piccanto went on a concert tour through Austria with a program consisting of pop covers, followed by appearances on the ORF programs Magical Christmas and Licht ins Dunkel , as well as in the Silvesterstadl . Her single Sternenlichter was released on December 4th, 2015. Her new single Land in Sicht was released on September 9th, 2016. The single premiered on the TV show "Die Starnacht aus der Wachau", which was shown on ORF and MDR in early September. On November 25, 2016 the final of the ORF program The Big Chance Choirs presented the band their new single high of yourself. In 2017 was Piccanto the Audience Award of the "so-so festival" in Solingen (D) and the jury, and audience award of the "Vocal Champs" competition in Sendenhorst . Her Christmas album Chrossover Christmas was released in December of the same year .
