The Pico Simón Bolívar is together with the Pico Cristóbal Colón the highest mountain in Colombia . Both peaks are in the mountains of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and are 5775 m high.
Both mountains are only about 46 km from the Caribbean Sea in the area of the municipality of Santa Marta in the Department of Magdalena .
The Pico Simón Bolívar should not be confused with the Pico Bolívar , which is located in Venezuela.
