Pier Andrea Saccardo
Pier Andrea Saccardo (born April 23, 1845 in Treviso , † February 11, 1920 in Padua ) was an Italian botanist . Its official botanical author abbreviation is “ Sacc. "
Saccardo studied at the Lyceum in Venice , obtained a doctorate from the University of Padua , was appointed professor of natural history at the Technical Institute there in 1869 and professor of botany and director of the university's botanical garden in 1879. Saccardo's scientific activity moves almost exclusively in the field of mycology , in which he has achieved excellent results .
