Pier Candido Decembrio ( Latin Petrus Candidus Decembrius * probably in 1399 in Pavia ; † 12. November 1477 in Milan ) was a humanist of the Renaissance . He worked as a translator and politician in Milan.

Pier Candido Decembrio was the son of Uberto Decembrio and brother of Angelo Camillo Decembrio . He was secretary and diplomat to Filippo Maria Visconti (1392–1447), the Duke of Milan . He has been referred to as the "President" of the short-lived Ambrosian Republic in Milan (1447–1450). After 1450 he was exiled and spent some time in Naples at the court of Alfonso V of Aragón and in Ferrara . His tombstone lists 127 works, including translations and biographies, including the life of Filippo Maria Visconti and the animal book Bestiary .
