Pier Paolo Capponi

Pier Paolo Capponi (born June 9, 1938 in Subiaco , † February 15, 2018 in Torri in Sabina ) was an Italian actor .

Life

Capponi was discovered by director Vittorio De Seta after attending an acting school and cast in a prominent role in Un uomo a metà 1965. By the end of the 1970s he played in numerous movies , mixing important works by Paolo Taviani , Valerio Zurlini , Nelo Risi and others with pure commercial goods, including numerous crime films or one of his rare leading roles in the comic book adaptation Mister X. He sometimes used the pseudonym "Norman Clark". From 1977 he turned increasingly to television work and played on stage, where he a. a. received good reviews under Nello Rossati in August Strindberg's Believer or under Antonello Agliotti in Anton Chekhov's Der Kirschgarten . At the beginning of the 1990s, after an ambitious project for the RAI school television and now in smaller roles, he appeared more frequently in the cast lists of movies. In 2003 he retired into private life.

Since 1975 Capponi was married to fellow actor Mara Venier .
