Pierce Elliot Brown (* 28. January 1988 in Denver ) is an American science fiction - author .

Brown became known through the series of novels Red Rising , of which five novels have been published:

  • Red Rising (2014, German Red Rising , 2014)
  • Golden Son (2015, In the House of Enemies , 2015)
  • Morning Star (2016, German Decision Day , 2016)
  • Iron Gold (2018, German Red Rising - Ashes to Ashes , 2018)
  • Dark Age (2019, German Red Rising - The Dark Age , 2020)

Life

Brown is the child of the married couple Colleen and Guy Brown. She was president of the media company Fisher Communication, he worked as a bank manager. In Brown's youth, his family often moved, so that he was often an outsider, which he also incorporated into his books in literary terms. Pierce Brown graduated from Pepperdine University with a degree in Politics and Economics.

Brown worked in the political field and for a start-up company. He had authored several manuscripts and had been rejected 120 times before being signed to his debut Red Rising . Brown got the idea for action after reading an ancient Greek drama and going on a climbing trip with friends.
