Piero Vivarelli

Piero Vivarelli (born February 26, 1927 in Siena , † September 7, 2010 in Rome ) was an Italian film director and screenwriter .

Life

Vivarelli joined the frogmen of the Italian army at the age of 17; In 1946 he was sentenced to prison for political reasons. From 1949 to 1990 he was a member of the KPI before joining the Cuban Communist Party .

Vivarelli began his professional career in 1950 as a screenwriter and in radio , where he developed the program La coppa del Jazz in 1960 ; he also worked as a lyricist for numerous songs a. a. by Adriano Celentano and was a member of the selection committee of the Sanremo Festival for five years . As early as the end of the 1950s, he had worked as an assistant director a. a. worked in musical comedies by Lucio Fulci and made his first film Sanremo, la grande sfida in 1960. He then devoted himself to commercial works of various genres , sometimes under the name Donald Murray . In 1978 he shot an autobiographical film with Nella misera in cui… and was seen as an actor several times from the 1980s.

His work since 1984 alternated between political and semi-pornographic projects.

His younger brother was the historian Roberto Vivarelli .
