Pierre Bourgeois
Pierre Bourgeois (born December 4, 1898 in Charleroi , † May 25, 1976 in Berchem-Sainte-Agathe ) was a Belgian poet . He is considered one of the most important protagonists of the Belgian avant-garde . He was the younger brother of the architect Victor Bourgeois .
life and work
Pierre Bourgeois moved to Brussels in 1916 . There he published his first volumes of poetry and with his brother Victor became a leading figure in circles of the artistic avant-garde . Together with his brother he founded the constructivist magazine 7 Arts: tous les arts , which appeared in 156 issues between June 1922 and September 1928 . In the vicinity of the magazine, an artist group was formed that included Pierre-Louis Flouquet , Karel Maes and Marcel-Louis Baugniet , Felix De Boeck , Victor Servranckx , Jozef Peeters , Jean Jacques Gaillard , Marc Eemans and Stanislas Jasinski . In 1930 the group 7 Arts separated.
His work includes over 800 poems, some of which have not been published . In addition to his literary work, he was also active as a filmmaker .
