Pierre César Gudin des Bardelières
Pierre César Gudin des Bardelières (born December 30, 1775 in Gien , † February 13, 1855 in Montargis ) was a French general de division of the infantry .
Life
Gudin des Bardelières comes from a middle-class background. Through his older brother Charles Étiernne , he made early acquaintance with the ideas of the revolution .
On October 16, 1785, Gudin des Bardelières entered the military school of Brienne-le-Château as a cadet and soon made a career there. He participated in the siege of Mainz in part and helped under the command of General Armand Gontaud the Vendée Wars (1793/96) to knock down. He was wounded in front of Clisson .
After his recovery and further promotion he became aide-de-camp of his uncle, General Gudin, on December 15, 1795 . With Napoleon he joined General Degiovanni's staff during the Italian campaign . At the beginning of 1800 he moved to the Rhine Army and worked from February 6 of this year as aide-de-camp for his brother Charles Étienne.
Gudin des Bardelières fought near Höchstedt (June 19, 1800).
In the staff of Marshal Louis-Alexandre Berthier , he fought at Wagram (July 5-6, 1806) and was wounded again.
After his recovery, he was posted to war in Spain . He fought at Murviedro (October 25, 1811) under the command of General Louis Gabriel Suchet and later moved to General Jean Isidore Harispe .
After the Battle of Paris (March 30, 1814), Gudin des Bardelières took on military and administrative tasks for a few years. When Napoleon left the island of Elba and his " rule of the hundred days " began, he rejoined the emperor. He took part in the Battle of Waterloo (June 18, 1815).
In early 1853 Gudin des Bardelières resigned from all offices and settled in Montargis. He died on February 13, 1855 at the age of 79 and was laid to rest in the Saint-Maurice-sur-Aveyron cemetery .
