Pierre Chappaz (born April 12, 1959 in Toulon ) is a French entrepreneur . He is one of the founders of Kelkoo and Wikio .

Student of the École Centrale Paris , he worked briefly at the World Bank and then contributed to the design of the Cité des sciences et de l'industrie in La Villette and then worked at Futuroscope in Poitiers, among others with Thierry Breton . He then created the Festival for Corporate Documentation and then joined the consulting firm Bernard Krief Consultants , where he succeeded Jean-Pierre Raffarin . With further experience at IBM , Toshiba and Computer Associates , he was one of five co-founders of the price comparison portal Kelkoo in 1999, which he led until it was taken over by Yahoo . For a short time he was also director of Yahoo Europe. Pierre Chappaz then became an advisor to the Swiss investment fund Internet Index Ventures .

In 2005 he created Wikio , an information portal for searching through websites and blogs; until July 2007 he was also one of the heads of the Internet platform Netvibes .

In December 2007, following a competition on his blog, he invested in two French startups : Hellotipi and eBuzzing .

He is also a columnist for the newspaper Liberation .
