Pierre Gattaz

Pierre Gattaz (born September 11, 1959 in Boulogne-Billancourt , France ) is a French entrepreneur and CEO of Radiall , a manufacturer of electronic components. He is President of the Mouvement des Entreprises de France (MEDEF). His father is Yvon Gattaz , who headed the Conseil national du patronat français , a forerunner of the MEDEF.

Childhood, youth and education

Pierre Gattaz was born on September 11, 1959 in Boulogne-Billancourt near Paris . His father was Yvon Gattaz , and in 1952 he co-founded Radiall, a manufacturer of electronic components, which was president of the business association Conseil national du patronat français from 1981 to 1986 , a forerunner of the MEDEF.

Gattaz attended the École nationale supérieure des télécommunications de Bretagne , he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in engineering. ab He then graduated with a degree in administrative management from George Washington University in Washington, DC

Professional career

Gattaz then became an economic attaché at the French embassy in Washington. He then worked from 1984 to 1989 at Dassault Electronique , a company that was then part of the Dassault Group holding company . From 1989 to 1992 he was a general manager at Fontaine Electronique Convergie , a subsidiary of Dynaction .

Gattaz joined Radiall, his family's company in 1992, where he served as General Manager. He has been Chairman of the Board since 1994. Under his leadership, the company, until then a company in the arms industry, opened up new business areas, especially in the telecommunications and aviation industries. 'It also increased the company's market share in the US, India, Japan and China.

Association work

Gattaz has been President of the Groupement professionnel des industries de composants systèmes électroniques (GIXEL) since 1999 . In 2007 he also served as President of the Fédération des Industries Electriques, Electroniques et de Communication . From 2013 to 2018 Gattaz was President des Mouvement des Entreprises de France (MEDEF), the most important economic lobby organization in France. He has been President of the European employers' association Businesseurope since 2018 . He is one of the proponents of deregulation.

Gattaz is a member of the Conseil national de l'industrie , as well as the business- oriented think tank La Fabrique de l'Industrie .

Honors

Gattaz is a Knight of the Legion of Honor and an officer of the Ordre national du Mérite .

Private life

Gattaz is married to Marie-Aude Gattaz, who represented the Republicans party on the Le Vésinet council . The couple has four children.
