Pierre Longue (Cuguen)
The menhir Pierre Longue (also called menhir de la Butte or Pierre Saint-Jaouan ) is located in the hamlet of La Butte in the municipality of Cuguen in the Ille-et-Vilaine department in Brittany in France .
The menhir is a spindle-shaped monolith made of granite with inclusions of small-grain rock. It is about 6.5 meters high and 1.85 by 1.5 meters wide. Its circumference is seven meters at the base.
The menhir was Christianized with a stone cross in the 19th century . The Saint-Jean chapel, founded in 1704, was located near the menhir.
The menhir was classified as a monument historique in 1889 .
The Pierre Longue menhir from Noyal-sous-Bazouges, more than five meters high, is about five kilometers to the east .
