Pierre Mainil

Pierre Mainil (born January 24, 1925 in Casteau, Soignies , province of Hainaut ; † February 23, 2013 ibid) was a Belgian politician of the Parti Social Chrétien (PSC), who was a member of the Senate for 14 years and State Secretary and Minister for twelve years several governments of Prime Minister Wilfried Martens was.

Life

Mainil, who did voluntary military service in World War II , became a member of the Senate in 1977 as a representative of the Parti Social Chrétien (PSC) and represented the Arrondissement of Mons and the Arrondissement de Soignies there until 1991 .

On May 18, 1980, he was appointed by Prime Minister Wilfried Martens to his third government and served as State Secretary for the Walloon Region together with André Bertouille until October 22, 1981 . On December 17, 1981, Mainil took over the post of State Secretary for Pensions in the fifth Martens government and also held this post in the subsequent sixth and seventh Martens governments until May 9, 1988.
