Pierre Nivelle
Pierre Nivelle SOCist (* 1583 in Troyes ; † February 11, 1661 in Luçon ) was Abbot of Cîteaux and Bishop of Luçon .
Life
Pierre Nivelle, Dr. of theology, monk of Cîteaux, provisional of the Collège Saint-Bernard in Paris until 1621, then abbot of Saint-Sulpice , 1625 of Cîteaux, was ordained bishop of Luçon in Sens on January 25, 1637 after he had to give up his abbey so that Cardinal Richelieu could take his place as Commendatar Abbot . He died on February 11, 1661.
