Pierrick Cros (born June 23, 1991 in Albi ) is a French football goalkeeper .
Club career
Cros began playing football in the youth of two village clubs in the Tarn department in southern France before moving to an amateur club from the city of Toulouse in the summer of 2005 . There he was discovered by FC Sochaux and in 2006 he was accepted into the youth department of the eastern French professional club. During the 2009/10 season, the goalkeeper was appointed to the squad of the first division team several times and from summer 2010 he was a substitute goalkeeper behind Matthieu Dreyer . On October 30, 2010, he made his debut at the age of 19 in a 2-1 defeat against Olympique Lyon in France's top division and temporarily became a regular in the goalkeeping position, but was then ousted by the goalkeeper of previous years Teddy Richert again. As a result, he was rarely called up before Richert retired on the 2012 summer break. In the early stages of the 2012/13 season, Cros was in the first team several times, but suffered a severe cruciate ligament rupture in October 2012 .
The cruciate ligament tear in his left knee put him out of action for months, and in some cases the end of his professional career was even predicted. However, Cros managed to return to the squad, although he was not able to establish himself again and only played a few appearances. In 2014 he moved to the Belgian first division club Royal Mouscron-Péruwelz and received regular match practice with them. Nevertheless, after his contract expired in summer 2015, he initially remained without a new club. At his previous club from Sochaux, he was at least allowed to keep fit during this time. In January 2016, the French second division Red Star Paris signed him as the second goalkeeper behind regular goalkeeper Arnaud Balijon . At Red Star he became a teammate of the one year younger field player Pierrick Cros . After a good performance in the 2015/17 season, he was relegated to the third division with Red Star in the following season.
National team
On November 16, 2010, Cros made his debut in a 1-0 win over Montenegro for the French U-20 team . At the beginning of the following year he played two more games for the U-20s and only conceded a goal in the 2-1 win against England . However, he did not get any further appointments in the youth teams of France afterwards.
