Pieschener melodies

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pieschner Melodien is a public open space in the interior of a tenement block in the Pieschen-Süd district of the Pieschen district of the Saxon capital of Dresden .

The Pieschner Melodien, also known as Pieschener Melodien, are one of the few shared space projects in Germany and the only one in Dresden that has implemented the shared space planning philosophy . The "melodious" name refers on the one hand to the curved Rosa-Steinhart-Straße which will open up the future residential development, and to the park that was created around it. It was inaugurated on May 24, 2017 by the Mayor of Dresden, Raoul Schmidt-Lamontain. The planning and construction time was three years. The traffic-calmed traffic area is located between Moritzburger Straße, Konkordienstraße, Leipziger Straße and Konkordienstraße. Based on the newly created access roads, it will be possible to further densify the interior space.

Shared space streets

In the Pieschner Melodien there are three streets that follow the shared space.

The Hedwig-Langner-Weg is named after Hedwig Louise Langner, who founded a toy and soap shop with a doll clinic on Bürgerstraße in 1894, which existed as Puppen-Langner until 2015.

The Pink Steinhart-Straße after the Jewish clerk Rosa Steinhart the (1885-1943) prior to imprisonment and deportation lived in Trachenberge named. However, the naming was rejected by the NPD and AfD , but it was decided anyway.

The Neudorfer Weg was named after the Neudorf settlement that was built around 1545 and existed until 1866 with 50 farmsteads on today's Moritzburger Strasse, which is now part of the Leipzig suburb .
