The district of Pieschen is the northwestern district of the Saxon state capital Dresden . With effect from September 13, 2018, the day of the public announcement of the corresponding amendment to the main statutes, the name city district replaced the original name local office area. Accordingly, the local council, local office and local office manager became the new names city district council, city district office and city district office manager.

The city district is divided into the following five statistical districts:
- Pieschen-Süd with Leipziger Vorstadt-West (Neudorf) , consisting of parts of Pieschen and the western Leipziger Vorstadt ( Neudorf )
- Mickten with Trachau-Süd, Übigau and Kaditz-Süd , consisting of Mickten , Übigau , the south of Kaditz and Alttrachau
- Kaditz , location of the Elbe-Park shopping center
- Trachau
- Pieschen-Nord / Trachenberge with Leipziger Vorstadt-Nordwest , consisting of Trachenberge as well as the north of Pieschen and the northwest of the Leipziger Vorstadt
This type of structure has existed since 1991. Before that, the district was part of the Dresden-Nord district . The district of Pieschen is located in the north-west of Dresden. In addition to the Elbe in the south and west, it is bounded by the Neustadt district in the east and the Klotzsche district in the northeast. The municipality of Moritzburg joins to the north and the large district town of Radebeul to the northwest .
politics
Until 2014, the distribution of seats in the district council was based on the distribution of votes in the city council election in the district. Since 2019, the borough council has been elected directly by the borough's citizens.

City District Office
The town hall Pieschen on Bürgerstraße, built by the architects Schilling & Graebner , is the seat of the city district office.
