Cotta is a district of Dresden . The seat of the city district office Cotta is in the town hall Cotta . With effect from September 13, 2018, the day of the public announcement of the corresponding amendment to the main statutes, the name city district replaced the original name local office area. Accordingly, the local council, local office and local office manager became the new names city district council, city district office and city district office manager.

This type of structure has existed since 1991. Before that, the area belonged to the Dresden-West district . location

The city district lies in the west of the city and is bordered by the Elbe in the north, the districts of Plauen and Altstadt in the east and the localities of Cossebaude , Mobschatz and Gompitz in the west. The eastern border is also formed by the Weißeritz river . To the south of the Cotta district is the town of Freital , whose Pesterwitz district is almost enclosed. The city district is located directly on the Elbe slope, so that the highest point is more than 100 m above the Elbe.

City District Office
