Piesing is a district of the Haiming municipality in the Upper Bavarian district of Altötting . Until 1969 it formed an independent community.

location

The hamlet of Piesing is located about two kilometers southwest of Haiming in Niedergern, the area between the Inn and the Salzach before their confluence.

history

Piesing was founded as a real "-ing" place during the Bavarian conquest between 520 and 700 as a branch of a puso. Pusingen was first mentioned in a document in 1268 . In several documents of the Raitenhaslach monastery there is talk of the Puchsingers, who were presumably ministerials of the monastery.

From 1489 to 1571 the seat of Piesing, since 1541 Hofmark , was owned by the Offenhaimer, from 1571 to 1695 it belonged to the Schwapbach family. From them Piesing inherited Adam Kaspar von Freyberg, master of Haiming Castle . The widow of his childless son and sole heir Maria Theresa married Maximilian Franz Josef Freiherr von Berchem, the rent master of the Burghausen Rent Office , in 1740 . The Berchem remained in the possession of Piesing until 1869. Then Piesing came to the family of the Barons von Ow , who still reside in Piesing to this day.

The Hofmark was absorbed by the Haiming-Piesing patrimonial court , which existed until the general abolition of the manorial rights in 1848. The communities of Haiming and Piesing were now solely responsible for politics and administration in Niedergern. Through their voluntary amalgamation on January 1, 1969, today's municipality of Haiming was created.
