Pieter Nason
Pieter Nason (* 1612 in Amsterdam , † 1688 in The Hague ) was a Dutch painter of the Baroque period .
He is considered a student of Jan Anthoniszoon van Ravesteyn . In 1639 he was accepted as a master in the Guild of St. Luke in The Hague. In 1656 he and 47 other painters founded a new painters' guild, the Confrérie Pictura . In 1662 he worked for the governor of Friesland Wilhelm Friedrich von Nassau-Dietz, around 1667 he was at the court of Friedrich Wilhelm von Brandenburg (court painter?). The museums in Berlin have other portraits and still lifes of him. After his time in Berlin he returned to The Hague.
