Nursultan of Spades

The Pik Nursultan ( Russian Пик Нурсултан (Комсомол) , Pik Nursultan ; also Pik Komsomol or Pik Komsomola ) is a mountain in Transili-Alatau in Kazakhstan .

The 4376  m high mountain is located 25 km southeast of the city center of the metropolis Almaty . It is located in a mountain range that branches off from the main ridge of the Transili-Alatau to the north. On the southern flank of Pik Nursultan, a smaller glacier flows west and feeds the Kitschi Almaty , which flows north to the metropolis of Almaty. The river valley of the Left Talghar runs east of Pik Nursultan . The Pik Talgar , the highest mountain in Transili-Alatau, is located 18 km east of Pik Nursultan.

The mountain was named after the Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev . At the foot of the mountain, 5 km north-north-west, is the Schymbulak winter sports center .
