The Trans-Ili Alatau ( Kazakh Іле Алатауы ; kirghiz алатоо Иле ; Russian Заилийский Алатау (Sailijski Alatau); Alatau = "colorful mountain", lat. Trans = beyond / after ie "Entertainment mountains behind the flow Ili") is one to 4978 , 9  m high mountains in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan ( Central Asia ).

The Transili-Alatau, which is a part of the Tianshan mountain range, is located in the areas of Almaty (Kazakhstan) in the north and Issykköl (Kyrgyzstan) in the south. To the north it descends to the valley of the Ilis , in which Almaty is located, to the east to the valley of the Schilik , a tributary of the Ili. In the south the Kungej-Alatau joins the border with Kyrgyzstan and in the west the Kyrgyz mountains . The Transili-Alatau has a length of about 350 km.

The highest mountain of the Transili-Alatau is the Pik Talgar ( 4978.9  m ) located south-southeast of Talghar , the height of which is sometimes given as 4951  m to 5020  m .
