The Pik Talgar ( Kazakh Талғар шыңы Talghar Schyngy ) is a mountain in the Tian Shan in Central Asia .
At 4978.9 m, it is the highest mountain in Transili-Alatau and is located near the southern Kazakh metropolis of Almaty , south of the city of Talghar .
In addition to the main summit, the mountain has a nearly 5000 m high north summit and a 4860 m high south-west summit. The Korschnewski Glacier is located on the southern slopes of the massif . The 12 kilometer long glacier is the largest glacier in the Transili-Alatau.
