The Pilar Bay is a shallow bay in the northeast of the island of Panay in the Philippines , where the communities Pilar , Panay , Pontevedra and President Roxas are.

It is a 520 km² large sea bulge in the south of the Jintotolo Canal . In the south of the bay the smaller Palongpong Bay and in the southwest the Cauit Bay branch off from the main bay. The water-rich Pontevedra River flows into Palongpong Bay . Numerous smaller, flat islands and coral reefs lie off the coast of Panay Island. The bay is the main fishing area for fishermen in the communities on the bay. Extensive mangrove forests , mud flats and sandy beaches lie on the coastline of the bay . The flatter interior of Panay is used to grow rice , the staple food.

The bay has a tropical and humid climate with no dry season . The driest months are November to April, the rest of the year there is sometimes heavy rainfall.
