Pillath , real name Oliver Pillath (born May 26, 1982 in Gelsenkirchen , North Rhine-Westphalia ), is a German rapper from the Ruhr area .

Career

Pillath left high school before completing a secondary school diploma. He started rapping and gained some respect in his homeland through freestyle battles . After they met in 2003, Snaga and Pillath released several mixtapes and albums until after album II (2009) it was quiet for the two of them. During the break, Pillath mainly took care of his family and his job as a team leader in a company in the sales and retention area. Pillath also has a son.

In 2015, after a six-year hiatus, he began to record a new song. After a beat request from Joshimixu , he recorded Der macht datt well , but then decided to release an entire album. With his comeback song Uncle Pillo , he announced on December 22, 2015 that his solo album of the same name would be released on February 26, 2016. The album debuted at number 17 in the charts in its first week.

On February 26, 2016 Pillath's first solo album Onkel Pillo was released on the Ruhrpott Elite label , the songs were produced by Juh-Dee , Joshimixu , Bad Educated, Gorex, Abaz , Monroe and X-plosive . It reached number 17 in the German charts.

Pillath's second solo album Onkel der Nation was released on January 20, 2017 and was ranked 11th in Germany. On July 6, 2018, An Uncle von Welt followed , which entered the charts at position 17.

Since November 2019, Pillath has been running the football podcast Important is' auf'm Platz together with Niko Hüls, editor-in-chief of the hip-hop magazine Backspin .
