Pink Anderson
Pinkney "Pink" Anderson (born February 12, 1900 in Spartanburg ; † October 12, 1974 there ) was an American blues musician.
Life
For years he earned his living with a quack ( Medicine Show ) who drove across the country to sell people supposedly miraculous medicines and for whom he made music to draw people's attention to the "magic doctor".
It wasn't until the 1950s that Pink Anderson made his first professional recordings, apart from a few recordings with Simmie Dooley in the 1920s. He also had an appearance in the film The Bluesmen in 1963 .

The "pink" in Pink Floyd
The eccentric art student Syd Barrett put together the name of his band Pink Floyd in 1966 from the first names of Pink Anderson and Floyd Council , of which he was in the cover text by Paul Oliver for the 1962 Blind Boy Fuller LP Country Blues 1935-1940 had read: “ Curley Weaver and Fred McMullen , (…) Pink Anderson or Floyd Council - these were a few amongst the many blues singers that were to be heard in the rolling hills of the Piedmont, or meandering with the streams through the wooded valleys . "
