The Pinnacle Peak is a 3,714  m high mountain in the Saint Elias Mountains in Canada's Yukon Territory .

Pinnacle Peak is located in Kluane National Park 13 km north-northeast of Mount Alverstone ( 4420  m ), which is the dominant reference. Between the two mountains is the upper end of the Dusty Glacier , which flows east and later north and is drained via the Dusty River . On the north flank of Pinnacle Peak is the upper end of the South Arm , an eastern minor glacier of the Kaskawulsh Glacier . 13.2 km south of Pinnacle Peak rises the 4250  m high Mount Kennedy .

Ascent history

Pinnacle Peak was first climbed over the west ridge in 1965 by Alvin Randall, Ome Daiber, Ed Boulton, Dave McBrayer, Bob Booher and Arnie Bloomer. In 1974 Harry Bowron, Hugh Ewing, Kirk Keogh and Bruce Carson climbed the summit several times via different routes: east, west and north ridge. The following ascent took place in 1990 by a Canadian group.
