Piotr Czerkawski (born September 28, 1989 in Wroclaw ) is a Polish film critic and journalist .

Education and professional activity

Czerkawski studied Polish Studies at the University of Wroclaw . From October to December 2015 he hosted the weekly Weekendowy Magazyn Filmowy on TVP1 . Czerkawski is a member of the European Film Academy . He is one of the program curators in the “Nowe Horyzonty” cinema.

Journalistic activity

Czerkawski regularly publishes articles in the monthly magazine "Kino" and in the blog of the film database Filmweb.pl as well as in the Polish journal "Studia Filmoznawcze". He is also an author in the Polish culture magazine “Magazyn O.pl”. In 2019 Czerkawski published the book Drżące kadry. Rozmowy o życiu filmowym w PRL-u ("Shaky pictures. Conversations about cinematic life in the People's Republic of Poland"). The book contains interviews with well-known Polish directors who were active in the People's Republic of Poland .

Awards

In 2016 he won the Polish Film Institute (PISF) award in the “Film Review” category.
