Piotr Klimek
Piotr Klimek (* 1973 in Szczecin , Poland) is a Polish musicologist , composer and university professor.
Life
After graduating from the Musisches Lyzeum in 1992 as a double bass player in Stettin, he studied with Gilius van Bergeijk and Diderik Haakma Wagenaar at the Koninklijk Conservatorium The Hague until 1997 . He then studied music theory and composition until 1999 with Grażyna Pstrokońska-Nawratil, Marek Jasiński and Włodzimierz Kotoński at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Music Academy in Poznan , where he received his doctorate in composition in 2003.
Since 1998 he has been teaching music at the university and the art academy in Szczecin. In 2003 he was at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and 2009 at the Zurich University of the Arts as a visiting professor worked.
He composes symphony , choral , chamber music and electronic music as well as settings for theater, cinema and film.
