Piotr Skierski

Piotr Skierski (born December 30, 1971 in Rybnik ) is a Polish table tennis player . He took part in the 1992 Olympic Games and played in the Bundesliga in Germany in the 1990s .

Career

Piotr Skierski began his career with the Polish clubs Górnika Czerwionka (1980–1992) and Euromirexu Radom (1993–1995). He then played for the Austrian TTC Kuchl , from where he moved to Germany in 1996 for DJK Kleinwallstadt . In the 1997/98 season he competed for TTC Helga Hannover , then for TTC Frickenhausen . In 2000 he returned to Poland.

Piotr Skierski became national Polish champion eight times, namely five times in doubles with Lucjan Błaszczyk (1991, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996) and three times in mixed (1990, 1992, 1997 with Dorota Djaczyńska-Nowacką).

From 1989 to 1997 he took part in five world championships , but never came close to medal ranks. At the European Championships in 1998 he won silver with the Polish team behind France. In 1992 he qualified for participation in the individual competition of the Olympic Games . Here he won the qualifying group against Augusto Morales (Chile), but lost against Ma Wenge (China) and Petr Korbel (TCH) and was eliminated.

Private

Piotr Skierski is married. He lives and plays in Portugal (ADC Ponta do Pargo).
