Pip Carmel

Philippa Karmel (born March 27, 1963 in Adelaide ) is an Australian film editor , screenwriter and film director .

Life

Karmel began her career in the film business in the mid-1980s. She studied at the Australian Film Television and Radio School and made several short films during this time, for which she also wrote the scripts.

From 1988 to 2007 she worked as an editor for the director Scott Hicks . In 1997 she was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Editing for her cut of Shine - The Way into Light . For this film she won an AFI Award and was also nominated for the BAFTA Film Award and the Eddie Award.

In 1999 she made her directorial feature film debut with Me, Myself, I , which earned her two AFI Award nominations.
