history

Piravom was part of the former Kingdom of Vadakkumkoor until it was conquered by the Kingdom of Travancore , which is now merged with the state of Kerala . The northern Travancore consists of Nordparavur, Aluva , Angamaly , Perumbavoor , Muvattupuzha , Koothattukulam , Kizhakkambalam and Kothamangalam in the Ernakulam district .

The Panchayat had been a community for a brief period of about two years before being converted back to a Panchayat in 1992 after skepticism that a community would attract a higher tax rate and more complex building regulations. However, the local councils now have the power to set the tax rate, while the provisions of the building codes already apply to panchayats of the special class. The Panchayat had passed a unanimous resolution for the survey. In 2015 the government of Kerala made Piravom Panchayat a municipality along with several other cities in Kerala.

The Three Kings Church in Piravom has a very deep history that comes from the birth of Jesus . It was supposedly founded to commemorate the visit of the three biblical magicians on the way to visit the new baby in the manger.
