Piri Meyer

Piri Meyer (* 1937 in Hungary ) is a German writer and literary scholar .

Life

Piri Meyer was born in Hungary in 1937 and came to Germany as a stateless person as a result of the Second World War . After high school and study of cultural studies and literary studies, she worked as an editor for the children's magazine Frösi in Berlin and later as an editor at the children's book publisher Berlin . She then worked as an employee of the Kulturbund der DDR in Rostock and as a freelance writer.

In 1991 she founded the Friedrich-Bödecker-Kreis in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and became its managing director.

Piri Meyer wrote together with her husband Klaus Meyer .
