Pirna 014 is a jet engine from GDR development for the passenger jet 152 developed at VEB Flugzeugwerke Dresden and built as a pre-series . The Pirna 014 was designed as a single-shaft, single- flow turbine jet engine ( turbojet ). It was developed by Junkers as the direct successor to the Jumo 012 and as a successor to the Jumo 004 by Junkers engineers from VEB Entwicklungsbau Pirna on the Sonnenstein in Pirna who had returned to the GDR from the Soviet Union .

The first flight test of the engine took place on September 11, 1959 with an Ilyushin Il-28R , with the engine mounted under the fuselage. Four Pirna 014 A0 engines from the pilot series were then used in the second prototype 152 / II V4 . After increasing technical problems and the resulting delays in commissioning as well as the absence or elimination of export opportunities for the 152 , the prerequisites for an economically viable production of the type no longer existed. Therefore, at the beginning of 1961, all aircraft programs under development by VEB Flugzeugwerke Dresden, i.e. H. the united aircraft industry of the GDR , stopped and the aircraft industry of the GDR ceased except for insignificant remains. The versions A2 and A3 were derived from the engines of the versions A0 or A1 (series version) developed for flight operations, which are used as gas generators for the Pirna 051 peak-load propulsion system in submarine hunters of the “ shark class ” (project 12) of the Volksmarine Found use.

The Pirna 014 A0 / V-16 jet engine is exhibited as a cutaway model in the Dresden Transport Museum in the aviation department there. In the aviation department of the Deutsches Museum in Munich , the Pirna 014 A0 / V-05 has also been on display in the form of a cutaway model since February 1, 1991. Another cutaway model would have to be in the hands of the Technical University of Dresden and in the rooms of the Faculty of Transport Sciences in the Gerhart-Potthoff-Building in Hettnerstraße.
