Pius Fischbach (born on May 3, 1948 in Villmergen ) is a Swiss football player . He played in the highest Swiss league for FC Wettingen , FC Grenchen , FC Winterthur and most recently at the height of his career for FC Zurich . He was on the pitch thirteen times for the Swiss national team .

Career

Dimmeler played as a junior at FC Wohlen and FC Aarau , where he also made the leap into the first team.

From 1969 he played for FC Wettingen in the National League A, where he was a regular player in their relegation season. In 1972 he moved from Wettingen to FC Grenchen , where he stayed for one season and then moved on to FC Winterthur . At the end of his time in Winterthur, he was called up for the first time for the Swiss national team on April 30, 1984 . After 52 games and 3 goals in Winterthur, he moves to canton rivals FC Zurich . With the FCZ, Fischbach won the double in 1976 and reached the European Cup semi-finals in the following season. After three years he ended his active career after a disagreement with coach Tschik Čajkovski .

After retiring from football at the highest level, he was still a player-coach at FC Villmergen. In 2004, after the dismissal of trainer Raimondo Ponte , he was an interim coach at FC Wohlen .

Private life

After the end of his career, the trained frame gilder joined his parents' picture frame company in Bremgarten AG . Until 2002 he was co-owner of an art studio in Zurich, after which he opened his own art gallery in Bremgarten .

He married in 1978 and has two children.
