Pizza of Death Records

Pizza of Death Records is an independent record label founded in 1999 by Ken Yokoyama , the guitarist of the Japanese punk band Hi-Standard . Pizza of Death Records is one of the most successful independent labels in Japan. After initially focusing on Japanese bands, the label now also releases and sells albums by European and American punk bands.

Publications

The first release of Pizza of Death Records was the album Making the Road by the group Hi-Standard . The album sold more than a million times in Japan and was distributed internationally by the US punk label Fat Wreck Chords . In 2002, Yokoyama produced Hawaiian6's debut album , which sold over 150,000 copies in Japan. In 2004 Ken released his first solo album, The Cost Of My Freedom . His second album, Nothing but sausage, sold more than 50,000 copies within a few days.
