José d'Angelo Neto

José d'Angelo Neto , also José D'Angelo Neto , (born October 11, 1917 in Ibituruna , Minas Gerais , Brazil ; † May 31, 1990 ) was a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Pouso Alegre .

Life

Angelo d'José Neto was ordained a priest on December 1, 1940 .

He was on March 12, 1960 by Pope John XXIII. appointed Bishop of Pouso Alegre . Archbishop Armando Lombardi , Apostolic Nuncio in Brazil, donated him episcopal ordination on May 26th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Oscar de Oliveira , Archbishop of Mariana , and Daniel Tavares Baeta Neves , Bishop of Januária . With the elevation of the diocese to the archbishopric of Pouso Alegre on April 14, 1962, he was appointed archbishop.

He participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council as a council father.

After the resignation of Othon Mottas , he was also Apostolic Administrator of the diocese of Campanha from 1982 to 1984 .
