Octávio Augusto Chagas de Miranda (born August 10, 1881 in Campinas , São Paulo , Brazil , † October 29, 1959 ) was a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Pouso Alegre .

Life

Octávio Augusto Chagas de Miranda received on 20 December 1903, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

He was on February 14, 1916 by Pope Benedict XV. appointed Bishop of Pouso Alegre . The Bishop of Campinas , João Batista Corrêa Néri , donated him episcopal ordination on June 4th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were his predecessor Antônio Augusto de Assis , Bishop of Guaxupé , and Francisco de Campos Barreto , Bishop of Pelotas . The inauguration in the diocese of Pouso Alegre took place on June 29, 1916.

Octávio Augusto Chagas de Miranda headed the diocese of Pouso Alegre for more than 43 years until his death.
