The Diocese of Campanha ( lat. : Dioecesis Campaniensis in Brasilia ) is a in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese based in Campanha in the state of Minas Gerais .

history

The diocese of Campanha was established on September 8, 1907 by Pope Pius X with the papal bull Spirituali Fidelium from ceded territory of the diocese of São Paulo and subordinated to the archdiocese of Mariana as a suffragan . On May 21, 1960, the diocese of Campanha gave up parts of its territory to establish the diocese of São João del Rei . The diocese of Campanha was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Pouso Alegre as a suffragan on April 14, 1962 .
