Pyotr Alexandrowitsch Klimow ( Russian Пётр Александрович Климов ; born July 16, 1970 in Moscow ) is a Russian composer and poet .

Life

Klimov studied music at the Russian Gnessin Music Academy until 1994 , where he received composition lessons from Andrei Golovin . Although he never officially took lessons from Boris Tchaikovsky , this composer exerted a great influence on him. After completing his studies, he began to attend the Gnessin Music Academy a. a. Teach composition and orchestration. In addition to his work as a composer, he also writes poems that have the special feature of being performed with a guitar. He is also a member of the Boris Tchaikovsky Society. Klimov is considered a great talent among Russian composers of the younger generation.

style

Klimow's music is relatively conservative. Boris Tchaikovsky's influences can be clearly seen. This concerns the intensive motif work, the tendency towards flowing melodies and the beauty of the sound. His style is clearly tonal , the choice of genre is also more traditional. His music is always quite expressive, sometimes almost romantic. He achieved a certain level of awareness u. a. so that he orchestrated the last work of Boris Tchaikovsky, the short prelude "The Bells". But Klimow's own works are also performed by well-known musicians and are gradually becoming more popular.
