Plaider les droits de l'homme (PLDH) is a non-governmental organization based in Strasbourg , France , active in the field of human rights protection .

In cooperation with the University of Strasbourg and the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg , she organized a moot court (“fictitious court”) for the European Court of Human Rights every year . The German judge at the Federal Constitutional Court , Johannes Masing , the Freiburg law professor Matthias Jestaedt and the French professor Florence Benoît-Rohmer are responsible for this unique German-French cooperation. In recent years, the Moot Court has been presided over by well-known experts in the field of human rights, such as Guido Raimondi (President of the European Court of Human Rights), Nicolas Michel (former Under-Secretary-General at the United Nations), Bostian Zupancic (Judge at the European Court of Justice for Human Rights), Dean Spielmann (judge at the European Court of Human Rights), Franziska Brantner (member of the Bundestag) or Enrico Letta (former Italian Prime Minister).

The honorary president of the PLDH is Hans-Christian Krüger, former Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe . The general secretary of PLDH is the French lawyer Manuela Brillat.

PLDH also organizes an annual gala where different human rights experts have their say. PLDH also organizes master classes on various topics in the field of human rights. In the past, master classes on the subjects of the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (with the former President of the Scientific Advisory Board of the European Agency for Fundamental Rights, Florence Benoît-Rohmer), on the subject of work / CSR (with Valérie Berset-Bircher, Board Member of Swisscom ), for European Court of Human Rights (with Hans-Christian Krüger and Michael O'Boyle) took place.
