Planet (TV)
Planet (own spelling: PLANET ; is pronounced in German) is a German-language television station that only broadcasts documentaries . The focus of the program is on science and technology, nature, culture, history and travel. One focus is on documentation on sustainability issues.
The thematic channel Planet was operated until the end of 2004 by MultiThématiques GmbH, based in Ismaning near Munich , which also maintains special interest channels in other countries in Europe, Latin America and Africa. Since 2005, the station has been part of the German media company HV Fernsehbetriebs GmbH, which operates Deluxe Music , among other things . Alexander Trauttmansdorff is the managing director. The company headquarters are in Landshut.
It started broadcasting on June 21, 1997.
Planet can be received digitally via the following cable platforms and IPTV providers:

Until 2005, Planet could also be received on the Premiere satellite platform. The program can also be received online via Zattoo .
Since December 2010 there is also a high definition version of the station. Planet HD can be received in Germany via Deutsche Telekom , Kabel BW and Unitymedia and in Switzerland via Finecom .
Since October 2011, the station has been broadcast from 6:00 a.m. to 9:45 p.m. on the AustriaSat pay-TV platform on the Astra 19.2 ° East satellite position .
The station can also be received as a live stream for Amazon Prime customers via the Amazon Channels streaming platform in the add-on package for the XPLORE own brand .
