Planta (magazine)

Planta ( Latin for " plant ") is a scientific journal for the field of botany . It is published today by Springer-Verlag . The journal publishes articles and book reviews on molecular biology , cell biology , biochemistry , metabolism , growth, development, morphogenesis , ecological physiology, environmental physiology, biotechnology and on the interactions between plants and microorganisms .

history

The founders of the specialist publication were the botanist and university professor Hans Winkler and the botanist and university professor Wilhelm Ruhland . The number one issue of the magazine appeared in 1925. In the early days, the botanist Emil Heitz worked on it . In the meantime (2014) the 240th volume has been published.
