Plato Ivanovich Mussin-Pushkin , count since 1710 , ( Russian Платон Иванович Мусин-Пушкин ; * 1698 in Moscow ; † 1743 ) was a Russian statesman .

Life

Origin and family

Plato came from the family of Count Mussin-Pushkin. He was a son of the Russian privy councilor and senator Count Ivan Alexejewitsch Mussin-Pushkin († 1730) and the Mawra Timofejewna Sawelowa. His first marriage was to Maria Matwejewna Rschewskaja and once more to Princess Maria Petrovna Cherkasskaya. From the first marriage two daughters, from the second marriage also two daughters and the son Valentin Platonowitsch Mussin-Pushkin (1735-1804), Russian field marshal , emerged.

Career

Mussin-Pushkin studied outside Russia and spent diplomatic missions in Holland from 1716 to 1719 , in Copenhagen in 1719 and in Paris in 1720 . Back in Russia he was governor of Smolensk from 1730 to 1732 , governor of Kazan from 1732 to 1735 and governor of Reval from 1735 from 1736 . In 1736 he became president of the trade college, which he remained until 1740. In the meantime, in 1739, he also became a senator. Mussin-Pushkin was also a privy councilor.
